Software Defined Networking for Mobile Ad-hoc Networks

Abstract

Today, the network switches require reconfigurations very rapidly, as the data forwarding plane and control plane are placed together in the same devices. It makes the working of switches complex and results in delayed delivery. Software Defined Networking decouples the control plane from data plane and centralizes network intelligence in one network component by disassociating the forwarding process of network packets from the routing process. SDN offers several benefits for networking such as scalability, reliability, cost-effectiveness, network security, etc.  The aim of this project is to demonstrate the capability of SDN by analyzing its usage in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks for concepts like peer to peer file sharing.
